OUR HISTORY
StarShine Blue School was born in the mind of our founder, Mrs. Caroline Njenga, many years ago as she pursued her Masters in Business Administration (Strategic Management option) in Nairobi University in 2006 – 2008. Mrs Njenga is an alumni of Pangani Girls’ High School and she was posted to her former school Pangani Girls on completion of her Bachelors degree in Education Science – double mathematics option – as a Mathematics teacher from 1997 till 2004. In 2005 to 2009, she worked in Kianda School producing excellent results in Mathematics.
It is after working in Kianda School that Mrs Njenga decided to publish a book – KCSE Made Familiar – Mathematics, which was a blessing to many students in high school who were struggling with Mathematics. With the coming in of other titles, Mrs Njenga was able to realise her dream of starting a school – StarShine Blue School. StarShine Blue School started as a Kindergarten in May 2013 with only 4 learners. The primary started in January 2016 with 9 learners. The Junior school came into play in January 2023, with the inception of Junior school into primary school. The school has grown steadily over the years to the current population of 509 learners.

At StarShine Blue School, the school lunch programme is designed to cater to the diverse dietary needs of students while maintaining a focus on nutrition, variety, and inclusivity.The school provides four meals during the school day: Tea break, lunch, evening tea and nap tea for the learners in Kindergarten. Each meal is thoughtfully prepared to offer a diverse range of nutrients, contributing to the students’ overall well-being. We place a strong emphasis on providing well-balanced meals to promote the overall health and development of students. The menu includes a combination of carbohydrates, proteins, fruits, and vegetables to meet nutritional standards and support the energy requirements of growing children. Special diet options are available for those with specific allergies, intolerance, or other dietary restrictions. The school recognizes and accommodates students with special dietary needs. These special meals may be offered at an additional cost to ensure that individual dietary requirements are met.

The meals are prepared by trained professionals who aim to ensure daily improvement on healthy living by providing safe, quality and healthy meals. With a focus on quality, variety and hygiene, the catering department ensures that each meal contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of our school community.
This comprehensive approach to the school lunch programme reflects the school’s commitment to the health, nutrition and overall development of its students, while also acknowledging and accommodating individual dietary needs.
The school buses run to and from the school. The service is a practical choice for students living in and around the Kiambu areas and its environs which is offered at a fair additional cost which is curated based on the various zones. The school bus programme is supervised, dependable and safe transportation provided for children. The school bus schedule may vary in response to demand.
